Hafa Adai,
So an episode has ended with UFC 148 Sonnen vs. Silva2 and the man who’s been most often called the worlds greatest pound for pound fighter again reminds the watching world exactly why.
Not too sure how many folks caught this past Sunday’s successful pay-per-view event rematch with Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen, how many people caught their first bout, and/or how many people stayed connected to all the smack-talking that ensued during about a 2year interval between their first and second appointment in the Octagon. For those few million out there that did stay tuned to all of Sonnen’s antics to provoke the Spider to a rematch—let the majority of us marinade in the justice that prevailed when the referee was forced to rescue the ridiculously outspoken Sonnen after a far, wide, and out-of-hand campaign to become the World UFC  Middleweight champion.
It was more than obvious that Sonnen was the aggressor during the build up of UFC 148, appearing on countless TV Shows, podcasts,Twitter accounts, etc…, actively discrediting Silva and even showcasing a fake UFC title belt claiming to be the world’s true middleweight UFC champion,  Sonnens antics  were actually in many ways amusing but got taken to the next level and way out-of-hand when he began to make rash comments about Silva’s wife, repeatedly discredit his way of training and on many occasions even insult his country.
Justice was served with finadene AND ice cream when the third man in the octagon had to come to Sonnens rescue after the display of skill and strategy of the UFCs most proven competitor
Stories almost immediately went online about Sonnen’s people questioning the validity of Silva’s actions and fans were even more disgusted at Sonnen after his coach mentioned hed be requesting an immediate rematch.
However, Sonnen almost silenced all critics when he honorably accepted the full circumstances of everything about heir rematch and even went so far as to profess of his admiration of the man who just a few days prior—vowed to beat not just to a pulp but to retirement.
These days everybody is beatable. As inderstructible as Silva might seem today. This sport is evolving at such a rate where even his eventual defeat is almost as certain as there is a tomorrow. What we’ve seen at last weekend’s event however, is that in victory or defeat—nothing closes the deal like true sportsmanship.  Gotta give it to the main event of UFC 148. It offered a whole lot more than entertainment. The fight itself  offered us a display of professionals at their best and its aftermath treated us to a masterpiece of strength and honor in full blast as Silva ended the hate campaign between him and Sonnen with a gesture of kindness that made tons of MMA fans even prouder of the sport we love.
Not only did Silva wind convincingly , he won graciously and that’s the kind of champion we all should make room for. And though we’d love to hate him and hate to love him—Sonnen kind of lost gracefully too. And I guess that’s at least the kind of loser we can make room for too.Truthfully speaking, it would’ve been cool to hear the “Now go leave the UFC as youpromised Chael Sonnen “speech. But maybe we can save that if all goes south for Sonnen and Anderson is forced to stop him for a third time.
Class and Cooth.  UFC148.Good Defeats Evil once again.Amazing.
Thanks for dropping by.
