Guam- It’s the ultimate test for jiu-jitsu and grappling practioners in the Marianas because it is open to anyone who’s willing to take the test.
The Marianas Open is currently the ultimate stage for grappling and jiu-jitsu students on the island for a sport that is continuously growing as the years pass. The Open puts advanced and amateur competitors against each other, which makes for interesting competition. This also helps to accomplish the main goal of the event, which is to make anyone a better martial artist and grappler through professional experience. Fellow coordinator Steven Roberto addresses that the island has many, great talents and the Marianas Open is where these individuals gain experience and test their skills.
Over 100 competitors are expected to join the gi and no gi divisions. If you’re interested in joining the last day to register is tomorrow, May 7 at the Fokai Shop in Hagatna before 6:00pm.
